Remi Nader, M.D. | Board Certified Neurosurgeon

 

Minimally invasive and complex spine, skull base surgery

Doctor Nader brings to the service of his patients his expertise and state-of-the-art technology to help him reach a diagnoses. This allows him to detect the precise location of the pain, to reduce the scale of surgeries and to minimize the post-operative pain and the time of recovery.

He is at the service of patients to determine if they can benefit from surgery when conservative treatments have failed.

Dr. Nader completed his medical studies at McGill University in Montreal. He later followed a general surgery internship in Texas at the University of Texas Medical Branch where he obtained his residency in neurosurgery. He also completed a sub-specialization in skull base surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also underwent 18 months of training in neurosurgical Oncology at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas..


During the past few years, he participated in many internships and courses in minimally invasive spinal surgery.

In addition to caring for his patients, Dr. Nader is involved in research. He was the first surgeon in the State of Mississippi to perform a spinal fusion using Autologous stem cells. While in residency, he published many books on spinal disease and brain tumors. He presented these topics at numerous conferences in neurosurgery at national and international levels. He has published more than 100 articles and book chapters in neurosurgery as well as nine textbooks in the field which are widely used by the medical community.

As an affiliate and member of the Faculty of the University of Texas Medical Branch, Dr. Nader trains residents in neurosurgery. Dr. Nader is also a national science advisor for technology companies in spinal surgery and has been called upon as an expert consultant neurosurgeon for various media outlets, such as television channel ABC and FOX news.

Josue Guevara PA-C | Physician Assistant

 

Josue Guevara joins Texas Center for Neurosciences with 20 years of experience as a certified Physician Assistant. Josue has worked in multiple areas of neuroscience healthcare, spine and pain management within the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings as well as surgical management for both neurosurgical and orthopedic care. Josue earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. He subsequently completed his Professional Certificate as a Physician Assistant at Kettering College of Medical Arts in Kettering, Ohio. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Texas Center for Neurosciences, Josue provided neurosurgical and orthopedic care at various health centers and clinics in the greater Houston area. His responsibilities have included the evaluation and treatment of new and follow up patients, long-term management of chronic spine conditions and management of inpatient and outpatient surgical patients. He is certified by the National Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Surgical Specialty Certification from NCCPA, and the American Heart Association with both ACLS and BLS certifications.

Important note about your initial evaluation:

Our Physician Assistant (PA) has advanced training and extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical and spinal disorders. He work closely with our physician, both in the office and in the operating room. He often provides the initial evaluation and orders the appropriate diagnostic tests for patients, enabling us to expedite your care. Our PA also spend extra time with patients, providing education and follow-up care. He is qualified to perform office procedures and renew medications under the supervision of our doctor.
